Trails of Adventure in Ohio that Can Delight Mountain Bike Riders

The foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in southeastern Ohio are plentiful in woods and lakes. The area of Ohio that this Yahoo Contributor calls home has many parks to the nature lovers’ delight. When I was in my early twenties, I loved to camp and ride my mountain bike in the parks in this area of Ohio. The Wolf Run State Park located near Belle Valley, Ohio was a near vicinity of the homestead. Seneca Lake, near Senecaville, Ohio was another great park that was nearby. I would spend many Saturday afternoons during the spring and summer on my mountain bike exploring new trails and experiencing many adventures at these parks.

The Buckeye Trail, approximately 1,2oo miles long, passes through Guernsey, Harrison and Noble Counties in Ohio. Although this Yahoo Contributor did not ride the Buckeye Trail, I have heard it is a popular trail for both hikers and bikers. The Buckeye Trail does pass through both the Seneca Lake and Wolf Run Parks. According to www.harrisoncountyohio.org/Trails-HarrisonCountyOhio, the Buckeye Trail in Harrison County follows a beautiful landscape. Mountain bikers can travel through two counties, Harrison and Guernsey, to view peaceful Tappan, Clendening and Piedmont lakes.

This Yahoo Contributor has ridden around different areas of Piedmont Lake camping areas. It is also a nature lovers’ delight.

According to www.harrisoncountyohio.org., the Buckeye Trail, near Freeport Ohio, scenery includes a covered bridge and a barn that has sixteen sides.

Mountain biking can be a way to relax on a Sunday afternoon. Or it can provide heart pounding exhileration, depending on the biking trail preference. I experienced both in my younger years. Whatever adventure calls, Ohio landscapes provide many opportunities and trails for the mountain bikers to explore.
