Top 5 Most Anticipated Fall 2011 New TV Shows

If you love television then you are looking forward to the new season of TV shows about to be rolled out. Are you prepared for what is coming, though? Do you know which shows to try and which to, maybe, skip? Allow me to help you. With so many shows premiering I will give you the five most anticipated debuts.

1) Alcatraz. This show will not premiere in the fall but is scheduled to be a mid-season replacement starting in early 2012. That’s cool. Good things come to those who wait. Created by the genius of all current geniuses – Mr. J.J. Abrams, the God behind LOST, this show stars LOST alum Jorge (‘Hurley’) Garcia, amongst others. Apparently something wicked this way is occurring on Alcatraz Island (J.J. loves islands). Guards and prisoners are re-appearing 50 years after they disappeared. Hmmm? Wonder if there’s a Smoke Monster.

Prediction – Home run!!

2) 2 Broke Girls. CBS has been solid with comedy lately. Look at The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and CSI Miami just to name a few. 2 Broke Girls shows promise. It revolves around two waitresses trying to save up money to afford to open their dream cupcake store. This show sounds kind of like the 1970s classic Alice. If it’s anywhere near as good it will be a winner. It will premiere Monday, September 19, at 9:30.

Prediction – A solid double with a steal of third.

3) Whitney. NBC has been heavily promoting this one. Whitney Cummings, regular to those who watch Chelsea Handler, is funnier than most comedians starting out today. Watch some of her stand-up shows if you get the chance. The show will center around Whitney and her boyfriend as they, comically, deal with their relationship. Whitney will premiere Thursday, September 22 at 9:30 PM.

Prediction – Base hit.

4) Person of Interest. Here is another show created by J.J. Abrams. He’s been busy. This one also stars a LOST alum – Michael (‘Ben”) Emerson. Its plot is similar to the movie Minority Report in that it revolves around the premise that somebody or something can predicts crimes/criminals beforehand. The writing will determine the ultimate fate of this show. The acting will be solid. Emerson is as good as it gets. It debuts Thursday, September 22 at 9 PM.

Prediction – Ground rule double (hopefully).

5) Once Upon A Time. Fall 2011 is the year of LOST related and created shows. Once Upon A Time is created by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz; two principle writers of LOST. It is a modern take on the classic fairy tale genre. What is real, what is make believe? That is the line that seems to be blurred. It is scheduled to debut Sunday, October 23.

Prediction – Base on Balls.
