The shadow of Thy wings!
The blessings and mercy of my Lord!
Count your blessings,
erring Christian,
count them, all you know!
Thank our Lord!
for all the greater number
we do not know:
The millions,
humble and nameless,
whose godly lives
have paved our way,
whose noble sacrifices
forged our freedom
and blessed our lives!
The shadow of Thy wings
which builds a wall
of protection around us,
which makes a way for us
where no way was!
Thy blessed angels
watching over us,
guarding and protecting us
through many a dismal
morass of danger
to our lives and souls,
if we but knew!
How broad, how great,
the shadow of Thy wings!
How Excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings. Psm. 36:7 KJV
