Top Rope Promotions has announced Mike Bennett as a competitor in the 2011 Kowalski Cup Tournament. The tournament takes place on October 7th 2011 at the PAL Hall in Fall River. One thing that Bennett has never been, is a slacker.

Mike Bennett began his wrestling career at the young age of 17. He attended the training facility Slamtech in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Under the instruction of Bob Evans, Bennett quickly shot to the top of the New England wrestling scene. Bennett proved to be a swift apprentice and a natural in the ring. He truly was a prodigy of the wrestling business. With assistance by Bob Evans and later Steve Bradley, Bennett started branching out of New England and spending time in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Bennett returned to New England in early 2007, and has continued to make a national impact. Before getting signed to a Ring of Honor contract, Bennett worked several dark matches for World Wrestling Entertainment and Total Nonstop Action.

Despite being a major player in Ring of Honor, Mike Bennett still enjoys working for Top Rope Promotions. Since he started wrestling for Top Rope Promotions in 2005, Bennett has been a multi time Top Rope Promotions champion. In addition, Bennett was the winner of the inaugural Kowalski Cup in 2006. In attendance that night was the legendary Killer Kowalski, who presented the trophy to Bennett.

On October 7th, “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett enters the 6th Annual Kowalski Cup Tournament. And he may hold the advantage. Bennett knows what it’s like to have to wrestle three grueling matches in one night. He has done it before. On October 7th, we will see if he can do it again.

Chances of Winning: Mike Bennett is the odds on favorite at winning the 6th Annual Kowalski Cup. He won the first Kowalski Cup tournament five years ago, by defeating Romeo Roselli, Joe Chece and Slyck Wagner Brown. Since then, Bennett has only gotten better. He is widely regarded as the best wrestler in New England. His biggest challenge looks to be Jason Blade, a former Kowalski Cup winner himself.
