Spring 2012 Office Wear Trends: Bye Bye Black Pantsuit!

Any woman who works in an office setting should know that just because you’re at the office, it doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable. The key is learning what is fashionable and appropriate for your office job. For the upcoming spring 2012 season, fashion designers like Michael Kors and Giorgio Armani are releasing their Spring/Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collections. There are a lot of fresh and light trends for office wear this spring , so it’s safe to say that for the 2012 spring and summer seasons, say bye bye to the boring black pantsuits!

For his 2012 Spring/Summer Ready-To-Wear Collection, Michael Kors is “Out of Africa” with chic tribal designs. Animal prints, leather and suede make up the forefront of Kors’ office wear this spring. His collection contains a lot of neutral tones (I know a big shock for Michael Kors) like tans, browns, and yellow, but he does give an ever-so-slight splash of color with some surprising red pieces. A woman can definitely escape from the office setting with Kors’ collection. I always choose Michael Kors for my ready-to-wear pieces because he really knows how to make a girl look chic and professional without looking cheap and tawdry.

If jungle chic isn’t your style, you can take a break from the office under the sea with Giorgio Armani’s 2012 Spring/Summer Ready-To-Wear Collection, which has as it’s muse the lovely mermaid, Coco Rocha, who opened his collection. Armani’s marine-inspired spring collection features a sort of mystical palette of water colors- iridescent silver, indigo, royal cerulean, tan and greens. These pieces are perfect for nearly any office setting and would look great on both blondes and brunettes, so there is something for everyone with this aquatic spring trend.

The biggest trend we are going see this spring is skirts- lots of skirts. This spring, office gals will have their choice of A-line, tulip, pencil, waisted, and tons of other styles of skirts to choose from that will suit any body type. The best thing about having separates in your spring wardrobe is versatility. You can mix and match different blouses with different skirts to create new looks and skirts are a great way to stay fashionable and cool during the hot weather months.

With these fun and fresh fashion trends for the 2012 spring season, there is no excuse for not looking your best at the office!
