Review: Nabisco Triscuit Fire Roasted Tomato and Olive Oil Wheat Crackers

Earlier today, one of my co-workers mentioned she had some snack crackers and she was leaving the box out for anyone who wanted to try any.

At the time, I wasn’t really interested in them. But, I ran out of the snack crackers I kept in my desk and, needing an afternoon snack, I decided to see what she made available to us. It turns out the crackers were Nabisco Triscuit Fire Roasted Tomato and Olive Oil Wheat Crackers.

When I first saw these, I wasn’t really sure what to think. I have had other Nabisco snack crackers in the past and like most of them. But, I have never been a huge fan of Triscuits or wheat crackers in general and was a bit concerned I wouldn’t like them. However, as I said before, I was hungry. So, I figured I would give some of them a try.

I won’t say these were the best crackers I have ever tried. But, I also didn’t hate them.

The biggest problem I have with wheat crackers is they always leave my mouth feeling a bit dry. And, I figured that was going to be the case this time around as well. However, as I ate the crackers, that wasn’t really a problem. There was a bit of a wheat-like aftertaste when I had them. But, it wasn’t anything that left me feeling like I needed to drink a gallon of water either.

The crackers were also surprisingly filling. I only took about five of them because I wanted to see if I liked them before taking more. I never ended up going after any other crackers because the five were more than enough to give me a satisfying snack. And, I wasn’t hungry again until dinner.

I was a little bit disappointed by the fire roasted flavor. It wasn’t really all that bad. It had an OK taste to it that offered a bit of a kick without being too spicy. My biggest problem with this was I didn’t taste this on all the crackers. Of the five, I tasted the spices on about two. The others were pretty plain tasting; as though they were from a completely different box (something I confirmed was not the case).

Despite that, I was pleasantly surprised by these crackers. I’m undecided about whether or not I would actually buy them for myself. But, I would definitely have some more if offered to me.
