Planning a Hiking Trip: Tips that Will Help You Have a Safe and Fun Hiking Trip

Hiking is a great way to get exercise, see the beauties of nature, and spend some quality time with either your friends or family members. If you want to plan a hiking trip for you and your friends or family, here are some tips that will help get you started and on your way.

1. Find a good place to hike.
It’s important that you know a good place in your area where you can try hiking. In some areas of the country, this may not be that easy so you may need to do some research. Be sure this place is allowed to have visitors and you won’t get in any kind of trouble for being there.

2. Who is going with you?
You should always have someone with you when you go hiking because you there most likely won’t be many people around and you are doing a lot of physical work. If you get hurt, you want someone to be around.

Remember that if you are hiking for the first time, you shouldn’t make it a long hike. You need to be in pretty good shape to go on a long hike. So take people who can handle it.

3. Is there somewhere you want to go?
You need to find out if there is a destination you have in mind when you are going on your hike. Is there a mountain you want to see? Is there a park that you really want to visit?

4. Choose a nice day.
It’s important that you choose a day that will have perfect hiking weather. You don’t want to hike in the rain do you? You also don’t want it to be too hot, this can be dangerous. You want the weather to be nice..So be sure you check the weather a few days ahead of time just to be sure.

5. What each hiking member will need.
This is very important. You want to be sure that you bring all of the proper supplies such as:

What should you be wearing?
-Hiking shoes.
-Thick socks (or two pairs)
-Hat.
-And clothing that will be good for the weather.

What should you bring?
-Flashlights.
-Full water bottle. You may want to bring more than one.
-You’ll need a good backpack to put all your belongings in.
-Compass.
-Map.
-First aid supplies.
-Food.

There are many other things you’ll need if you plan on turning it into an all night hike.

Hiking is fun and a very healthy activity, but if you don’t prepare yourself and the group it increases the chances of someone getting hurt. It’s very important that you take your time to carefully plan out where you go and what you are going to bring along on the hike.
