Cat owners know the importance of buying the right food for their furry friends every step of the way during their cat’s growth and development. But is Cat Café Salmon Cat Food worth it?

I recently purchased a bag of Cat Café Salmon Cat Food for my cats, as I was running low on supplies and needed something to tide them over until I purchased their usual brand of food. It cost just $1 for a 510g bag of Cat Café Salmon Cat Food from my local 99¢ Only shop, which I thought was a great deal.

According to Cat Café, this brand of food is 100% nutritionally complete, thus providing a cat with its full daily nutrients and needs.
Switching from Another Cat Food to Cat Café
If your cats are used to a certain brand of cat food, switching to a new one can prove problematic. Many cats resist the change, vomit or refuse to eat, which is why Cat Café recommends allowing 7 to 10 days for the cats to make the transition.
Start off by mixing Cat Café Salmon Cat Food with your cat’s regular brand of food. Slowly decrease the amount of their usual brand until they are eating just Cat Café Salmon Cat Food.
Ingredients
Cat Café Salmon Cat Food contains ground yellow corn, soybean meal, meat and bone meal, poultry fat, poultry by-product meal, tuna and liver, and other ingredients. I must admit that I did not find the ingredients particularly inspiring when I read through them, as much of them consisted of by-products, rather than a balanced mixture of ingredients that would help promote good health.
The Cats’ Verdict
At first, my cats seemed enthusiastic about the temporary change to Cat Café Salmon Cat Food and gladly gave it a try. They appeared to enjoy the food, but after a day or so I started to notice that the food bowl was not going down much and they were starting to pick at the food, reluctant to eat with the same gusto that they displayed when I first introduced them to this food.
Recommendation
It is unlikely that I will purchase Cat Café Salmon Cat Food again, even if I am temporarily out of my cats’ usual food. Although my cats showed an initial enthusiasm for this food, it soon became apparent that they were not keen on this brand of food. This product contains too many animal by-products and not enough “real” ingredients that I would like to see my cats eating. As a result, I would not recommend this product.
