What foods help prevent diarrhea?

Q:Hello, I have had direah since October 26, 2005. I take anti-dirarrhea pills in the morning and it helps for the rest of the day, but every morning it is the same thing until noon to 2:00PM. Does anyone know of any foods to eat to help prevent diarrhea or foods that I should stay away from? Thank-you. Sincerely SAM

try dry toast ,or even try a table spoon of dry corn flower
When my boys were little and had diarrhea, I remember the doctor recommending “BRAT”. Bananas, Rice And Toast. The bananas are good for replacing the electrolytes that your body looses and the rice and toast are easy on your digestive system and tend to “firm” things up! Good luck.
I used to have diarrhea on a regular bases it was very embarrassing and alot of times it stopped me from going out.I started to take 2 vitamin supplements that have helped me a lotthey are Alfalfa- cleans the body of any toxinsEZ-Gest-Helps with bowel conditions such as diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease ,IBS,Etc.since taking these products I now have my life back
bananas help. and you should see a doctor very soon
Wow, sounds like you have a serious problem! And the doctors just gave you pills?Well, the local colonic therapist told me that bananas will stop diarrhea. (It has the opposite effect on me, it helps me get my bowels moving if I’m constipated.) You might give it a try.
Apples! They are really good for you. They help prevent diarrhea and constipation. I don’t know how, but it’s true. Too many foods like broccoli and cauliflower could give you diarrhea, but you have to eat a lot of it. Good luck!
bananas for 1
if you have had diarrhea for that long, you need to seek help immediatelythat is not normalthere could be something really wronggo to a Dr
You should avoid fatty/high protein foods. Stick with simple carbs, foods with less fiber until you become normal again. Apple juice also helps. If it prolongs, you should see a doctor, maybe you have some infection, and not jsut diet alone.
u could have a diseas. go to dr.
Rice should help, too.
You may have a medical problem, like colitis, or irritable bowel syndrome. Have you been to a doctor about it? Stay away from dairy, and anything with acid in it, like coffee, pop, and citrus fruits. Try eating only bananas, dry toast, plain rice, and apple sauce for 48 hours and see if it stops. It’s called the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast).
