- Q: i have never been so scared in my life and I thank God that he kept me alive. When my family and I were driving home, I felt kinda warm then i felt like hyperventilating and then i felt like I was gonna have diarrhea. I opened the window and i told my brother to go to McDonald's so that I could use the bathroom. I begged him twice, but he couldn't move on the highway. Then, my mom told me to throw up in a white bag. I didn't feel like throwing up, then i immediately went into the bathroom when we came to my uncle's house. My mom told me to not lock the door to get in so that she can help me. She told me to put a finger in my throat so that i could throw up. She didn't know what was wrong with me, I didn't know what was wrong so she told me to throw up.Now, usually when I feel this way, I feel better when I put water on face. My mom splashed water on my face and i wasn't getting any better. I didn't feel like myself. I was panicking and I felt like I was going to die. I praying to God to please forgive for whatever I've and to not take me away yet. I prayed so many times or told him so many times. Nothing was working and I got so scared then my mom told me to go outside and I did but that only helped a little, then i opened the window the whole time and tried to close my eyes and sleep on my mom's shoulder to keep myself calm. It kinda worked but i still scared. I felt i was going to die in my sleep.I'm kinda but not really scared to go to sleep. My mom told me not to lock the bathroom door in case she needed to come in and help me. While I was in the shower, I tried to remain calm and it helped a little but I was still scared. I knew i needed some distraction, so i told my mom that i would do homework. She said to relax so me and her were online on my computer. I cried to her telling her that i've never been so scared in my life. My brother told me it must've been 'cause i didn't eat any breakfast but i drank coffee. I only drink coffee on weekends in the morning and then I eat breakfast. Also, on my period. My best friend told me that it must've been that i was overwhelmed. I told my mom that this felt like a nightmare and by tomorrow morning i want to not think about it, but the problem is that now i am scared to go to school 'cause at the beginning of the first 2 weeks of school I always felt like hyperventilating or having diarrhea 'cause it happened before in school. And I don't know why i can't forget that. In the past, I used to want to die now because of this, I will never have any death thoughts or things anything worse for myself. This will be hard. What i am asking what if the morning i think will i die? I know that i will forget about it, but it's very hard. This really was a nightmare. What do I do? I was so scared and now i am a little. Also, this is an important question, how do i not let one thing affect me?this is my first panic attackand i am only 17i dont have enough money to go toa professional
- A: It sounds like a panic attack to me. You hyperventilate, can feel nauseous, feel like you are dying or going crazy. Some people never have one, some people have a long history of them, like me.When they first started I thought I'd lost it. Go to wikipedia.org and read about them and see if it sounds like what happened to you. You aren't going to die from it, but they can be very frightening. I think you should see a doctor about it, I really do.Edit - the poster behind me couldn't be more right about the coffee. As much as I love coffee, I can't drink it. Cut out ALL caffeine, including tea and caffeinated sodas like coke. I am very sensitive to it.Edit again - You could go to a free mental health clinic. That's why I did after a few months of it. It wasn't exactly 'free' - I paid a very small fee. Try to calm down. Some people never even have another one. It could have just been a fluke. The calmer you try to keep yourself, the better off you'll be. Call a hospital and ask them for resources if they keep happening. That is how I was referred to a clinic. It does sound like you have a supportive family and that makes a world of difference too. I really didn't - my mother thought I was full of it.
- First period 4 weeks after a D & C.....?
- Q: Hi guys, I had a d&c for a miscarriage at 8 weeks pregnant.I live in SA and here if you don't have medical insurance your f*cked. You have to go to a public hospital which looks like something in your worst nightmare and you wait up to 3 days for a bed in the hospital. That's only some of the horror stories. So my family had to pull out a large sum of cash to pay for my d&c. We don't have a medical because of personal reasons & lack of finance (i'm a student and hubby doesn't earn much.)So I never went for my follow up appointment.I didn't experience anything strange and got my period Monday, which is 4 weeks after the d&c.My period was very heavy and painful which I read was normal for your first period. However yesterday when I woke up I had bright red blood and I still have it - it basically looks like fresh blood. The gyn will only be in later this afternoon so I'll phone him then.I don't have fever, chills, foul odour etc which could indicate an infection.BUT I did start exercising on Monday (jogging, light weights etc) and I did see that it makes the flow more. Do you think the bright red bleeding is because of the exercising? and if so, why?did anyone else experience this?pls help.thanks!oh yeah we are going away for the weekend and i'm assuming because of the bright red bleeding i won't be able to swim?
- A: Angel, I am sorry to hear about your pregnancy loss. I too went through it a few months ago, at 10 weeks. It's such an emotionally painful experience. For some reason it happens to a lot of women, especially with the first child, or with the first child with a new partner. D&C is a relatively aggressive procedure to your uterus, and it may take a few cycles for it to recover. Women who had to have a D&C rather than miscarry naturally will have more scarring inside the uterus. As you mentioned, your working out activity probably triggered the blood flow. On the other hand, your hormone levels must have recovered very well since you got your period after 4 weeks. That's a good sign. Make sure to have a follow up ultrasound just to rule out anything unexpected. I wish you a lot of babydust. Your next pregnancy will be fine, you'll see.
- Why is my cat so aggressive?
- Q: I have a 6 month old neutered male cat/kitten. I got him when he was just 6 weeks old, and yes I know that's quite young, but he was living in deplorable conditions. He was already weaned, and he did adapt very quickly, only cried for 2 nights and then settled in marvelously. He was very sweet, loved to cuddle, play, etc. and then when he was about 10 weeks old, that all changed. He started biting and scratching, although it was in a playful manner--he just didn't seem to know when to play and when to NOT play. As he got older, it got worse and now he has a terrible biting habit. This isn't playful biting, it's very painful and bloody and comes out of nowhere! We can be petting him and he'll act like he's loving it, purring and rubbing, and then he'll just bite. Ears will be flat and he'll almost act feral! He has actually gone feral a time or two and left deep scratches and punctures (he got my husband a couple weeks ago). I had him neutered at 4.5 months, in the hopes that he could calm down. The Vet normally doesn't neuter until 6 months, but because of his size and behaviour he agreed to neuter him early (he is a massive cat). The strange thing is that despite his behaviour, he is very clingy and needy. It drives me crazy! I can't leave the room without him following, and normally he's attacking my heels every step of the way. If I go into a room and shut the door behind me, he squalls like an infant and batters the door until I let him in! He won't go outside, and even putting him outside for a couple of minutes is a nightmare as he howls and cries nonstop til I let him back in. I'm at the end of my rope with him, and I don't know what to do. Once he is full grown, he will be dangerous if he continues like this; he is already the size of an adult cat. My hands are scarred and my 3 year old is always sporting a scratch or three; he's even attacked her and brought her down to the floor before. On the flip side, everything else about him is normal. He uses his litterbox faithfully, and has done since we brought him home. He eats like a horse, is very healthy, he's flea-free, had all of his vaccinations. During his 'calm' periods, he'll lie near me and sleeps on the bed at night without much of a problem (occasionally, he'll munch on our feet or toes, but not a lot). I'm probably crazy for letting him in my room at night, but I can't stand the continuous howling if I don't.He really does seem to have some sort of personality disorder, especially with the way he turns with no warning whatsoever. One moment he's very loving, purring, happy, and chirping. The next, I'm having to pry his teeth out of my hand or arm, and physically remove each and every claw from my skin. I'd really love some advice because I don't want to have to get rid of him. Sorry this is so long! Thanks! Thanks to all who have answered so far :-) Unfortunately, getting another cat at this time is not an option as we live in a flat. To be honest, he's all but put me off ever owning another cat again! Some days I just want to cart him off to the nearest shelter or rescue, especially after the other night he suddenly decided to spray my daughter's flannel (he's never sprayed before and was neutered at 4.5 months!). Only thing that stops me is the fear he'd be destroyed because I view him as totally un-rehomeable. I might try some sort of pheromone spray; I used a spray to deter him from chewing and scratching our wallpaper and he got the point after about 2 months of use. But I really just think it's HIS personality; biting is something he enjoys doing. Sometimes he's purring while he's taking chunks out of our hands and gets very very angry when we tell him No. Maybe he's doomed to be an outdoor cat =\
- A: I had the exact same problem - everything you described, from the yowling to the biting - with my cat at that age (I also got her at 6 weeks). My arms were covered in scratches and bite wounds. I even tried putting her on the kitty equivalent of Prozac to calm her down, but it didn't do anything. Ultimately the only thing that helped was getting her a playmate. I know that it seems like it will double your problem but if you have the resources for it I would really encourage you to give it a try. Your boy is full of energy and he doesn't know how to appropriately express it. By being taken away at 6 weeks old, he missed out on all of the critical socialization training he would've gotten with his mom and littermates - how hard is too hard to bite, when to use your claws, etc. A friend would not only give him a way of getting out all that energy without needing constant attention from you, but he or she would also be able to teach your boy boundaries in a way he can understand, in his "language."Just my .02
