Lump on testicle and abdominal pain, should I be worried?
Q: About 9 months ago I noticed a strange lump on my left testicle.I went to a doctor, and he said it was just the vas deferen.Since then, the lump has disappeared which leads me to STRONGLY believe it was in fact not the vas deferen. And then, about 2 months ago I started getting a completely unexplained pain in my left lower abdomen. Again, I went to the doctor, got blood work done, they checked me out, blah blah blah…found nothing wrong with my abdomen that would cause the pain so I guess I’m just insane? The abdominal pain continues in my side to this day.The intensity is enough to stop me in my tracks when I’m walking or whatever I’m doing. It’s not a constant pain. Just every now and then. The pain intensity increases regularly.Approx 2 weeks ago, I lost my ability to orgasm as I used to. I can orgasm, but nothing comes out except a tiny bit of what I would call “pre-ejaculate”. There is absolutely no substance to it. It’s just like water whereas my loads used to be thick and white and LOTS of it.I’ve abstained for a day, 2 days, 4 days and a week without masturbating. Every orgasm is the same – just a water-like substance.I’ve changed nothing in my diet. I eat the same as I used to.It was literally an over-night change. One night was a good thick white load, then the next day it was this watery fluid and has been ever since.I’m not attempting to be a hypochondriac here. I honestly hate doctors and the entire medical field. The last thing I want is to take some stupid medication that they’re sure to give me. There’s just way too things in that general area of my body that are “messed up” to just be coincidental.I am 20 years old. Should I be worried about the possibility of testicular cancer? I’m not even sure what the symptoms of TC are.I’m going to my local Planned Parenthood for an STD test – just in case, but I plan to speak to them about this as well and see if they can shed some light on it and direct me as to who to contact and what to do about it but I’m just wondering what I should be expecting?
A: You do not have symptoms of testicular cancer and it is pretty uncommon to begin with. You are having problems with ejaculation and you still don’t think it is the vas deferens? Okay, it may not be there exactly, but it is probably close by. It sounds logical to me that all of your symptoms are related and it is very unlikely to have anything to do with cancer. How did they determine there was nothing wrong with your abdomen? Did they do an ultrasound or a CT? You need to see a urologist – this is their specialty. They will not simply give you medication. There is clearly something wrong although it doesn’t sound serious, it could be if ignored. It really sounds like a plumbing problem to me. I know it is a pain, but you just need to be a little persistent.
