A: Pain whilst breastfeeding is normal. When you’re feeding your baby, your body releases hormones that among other things, make your uterus contract. It is essentially very small contractions known as after pains and YES they happen after c sections too. It happens quite often in the first few weeks and is not anything to worry about. If it does really concern you speak to your doctor or baby health nurse. Don’t stress.

Q: Ive posted this a few times, but never got any help.I missed 2 pills 3 1/2 weeks ago (sat and sun.) On monday I took 3 pills, sat, sun and mondays. I started to spot saturday morning. I let it go figured it was cause i missed the pill or my body just needed a cycle. Well after 2 weeks, I called my GYN, she told me no big deal. To keep taking the pills, which i did. The 2 days i missed me and my fiance did have sex..unprotected. I had planned on taking the pill sat when I got home, but having a 9 yr old, life got in the way. Same with sunday. I called ago last week, and was told the same thing, keep taking them. So I did. I called Sunday for a UTI. Was put on an anitibiotic and was told to come in monday. When I went in, the test came back neg for being pregnant. She switched my BC pills in hopes it would stop the spotting.Well I went back to work monday after my app. and I started to have sharp pains in my lower abdomin. I let it go thought it was gas or soemthing. Tuesday, still had them, and still let them go. Yesturday, I was in so much pain I called them back and was told i needed to come in. I did today. Was given an ultrasound and a new preg test. Teh sound showed nothing out of the norm. I asked about being pregnant, and she told me there was nothing there saying i was but it was to early to even see anything if i was. The test was neg again also. I saw the main doctor, and she said she doesnt get why im having the sharp pain when theres nothing out of the norm. So she told me to take it easy and take pain meds and pray it stops.I went back to work today, and no matter what I did, I got the sharp pains. I work for the census, and we lift boxes that are very heavy. When I tried to pick one up I got the pains and they lasted. Then my lower back started to hurt. I was in so much pain i ended up cring. The pain is a mix between a cramp and a ovulation pain. ive been pregnant before, and the only issue I ever had was my lower back. I was eatting more but now food in general doesnt sound good to me. I have the lap band and can get stuck on food, and since monday I have been getting stuck on food left and right, meaning my band in tighter. Im exhausted. my boobs hurt, but that can be from the pills. Other than that..nothing is different. Oh and some I work with think I am pregannt. I keep telling them im not.

A: im not sure if you are or not, but right now my mom has an ovarian sist (or however you spell it) and she is having some signs like that. but if i were you i would wait a week and take a test, and if it is negative, and you still feel pregnant, get a blood test done. when you went before you could have gotten a blood test because they can detect pregnancy as early as a week.

Q: I had a CT with contrast preformed following a colonoscopy. The CT finding were: 15mm density near the dome of my liver. Liver not enlarged. Numerous nodes present in para-aortic on the left & as well as the mesentery region meassuring 5mm. Etiology uncertain. No pathologic adenopathy. Whats been going on with me and the reasoning behind the testing: 27 yr old female, weight loss of 80 lbs in 9 months, moving my bowels 8-10 a day, night sweats, chronic fatigue, chronic pain on the left side in my abdomin as well as lower back….My gastro was thinking Celiacs disease but were still awaiting results, as well as the gentic test results to see if I have FAP like my father, grandfather and sister. Could what they found be the cause of my problems? And does anyone have any idea what any of that means??

A: No one knows what any of it means without the results. However, the fact that your father, grandfather and sister all have FAP means you should have been tested before now and should never wait for symptoms to occur.
