Colon cancer on a regular xray?
Q: I recently have been having lower left abdominal pain for the past 2 months. My doc had me get an abdominal xray. (I dont have irregular stools or anything.)Just a regular xray but of my tummy. No barium, no nothing crazy like that. The thing is that my xray showed a density in the lower left pelvis (thats what the doc said). She said she couldnt tell weather it was in my kidney or my colon. So she had me take a urine test to rule out stones. The urine test came back normal, so I guess its not stones. So if its not stones, could it be colon cancer??? I mean, is that even detectable in a regular xray?? She said the density was 2mm. I thought colon cancer could only be detected by MRI, barium enema, or colonoscopy. Do any of you radiologists out there have any idea what it could mean? Thanks in advance! It is NOT a kidney infection. They did a urinalysis to rule that out.
A: No one is saying it’s colon cancer they don’t even know if it is in the colon. 2mm is very small and not very likely to cause symptoms if it were colon cancer. When colon cancer is found on imagining it is usually on CT. They are going to have to do more tests to know probably a CT and/or ultrasound they need a better look at it.
Back pain, abdominal pain, skin tenderness, other pain?
Q: I have pain that just comes and goes in my left upper and lower abdominal quadrant. It’s like a sharp pain. I also have skin tenderness like if I touch my skin or rub it, usually on my back but also everywhere else. It only happens occasionally. I also have back pain and pain in my thorax area, like under my right arm by my breasts, sometimes it stays for hours. It comes and goes. Are these symptoms related? And what could they be? Also if you’re born with optic nerve dilation or cupping, does that mean I will end up with glaucoma in that eye? And if it helps Im 23 years old, caucasion, female.i realize i need to ask my doctor but health insurance doesnt cover everything and health care aint cheap. just came on here to get an opinion, not something i already know.
A: So I guess that your not john_boy haha Just kiddingtype in costochrondritis and see if this may helpI also would try mayoclinic.com and click on symptom checkerAs far as your eye problem is concerned I would call and ask an opthamologist
