Q: I’m female, 19 years old. I’m on my third day of severe lower abdominal pain. The first day was the worst. It started with pinching in my lower abdomin and in about two minutes it became very severe and I couldn’t move at all. I was on the couch completely unable to move for 7 hours. The next day when I was able to sleep off some of the pain I went to the emergency room. All my blood test are normal. pregnancy test was negative. White blood cell count was normal and my blood pressure was the best it’s been in a year. They gave me morphine for the pain and it did nothing. They inspected my uterus and ruled out ovarian cyst and endometriosis. They ruled out appendicitis since the pain is centrally located and not to one side. After finding no answer they just sent me home with a prescription for pain meds. I’m not looking for a doctors answer, just other people who have had severe lower abdominal pain. I need to know what this is. I have no fever, good appetite, no nausea, no other problems except this extreme pain that keeps me from barely being able to move. I can barely walk now because every step feel like razor blades rattling in my abdomin. What do you think it could be? Please nobody being rude

Q: Due to a series of infections, UTI, then Root Canal, I’ve been on one antibiotic after another for over a month. First I was given Bactrim and then Ciprofloxacin. After finishing the Cipro, I had the my tooth and jaw swell up requiring a root canal. The dentist put me on penicillen. Now I am finished with the penicillen. However, now I have severe lower abdominal pain. Could it be a result of being on so many different antibiotics for so long? If so, what should I do?Thanks, I did wonder it my poor “good bacteria” were casualties in the war against the “bad bacteria.” Have you any specific suggestions for probiotics I can get OTC? Thanks!

Q: I experience this severe loweer abdominal pain twice in two years. The first time, I do not know what’s the primary cause. But the hospital doctor secondary diagnosis is UTI & primary diagnosis is Sudden severe lower abdominal pain pending investigations.2nd time it occur, abt a year later. I suddenly realize, I experience the same situation after having sexual intercourse few hours earlier. And was hospitalize again with the same diagnosis as the first time I was admitted in the hospital. Still no real cause to my sudden pain. A: It could be caused by the intercourse it’self. Your positon could be alot of the problem and it is causing a temporary change in your uterus position,hence the pain. The pain usually subsides by it’self.
