Ok so can someone tell me how many calories does a 14 year old need?
Q: Im 14 year old female and i was just wondering how many calories i need. Most of the people on this say you should be eating like 1300 a day. I thought you need 2000. Im not that active. I eat healthy enough but i think im overweight. Im 5’4 and 120 pounds. Im trying so hard to stick to a diet and not binge because i suffer from bulimia. Any tips?
A: 1200 is actually a good number. The fact is, science is finding new and more interesting things about the relationships between calorie consumption and health, longevity, etc. Recent studies have found that fewer calories actually leads to a longer life. To break it down, your body needs 60 grams of carbohydrate to operate your brain, Your body can take from this to operate muscles and organs 1200 calories is a 40/30/30 (protein/carbohydrate/fats) combination is good, because your body needs proteins for building and maintaining structures of the body, carbohydrates for energy, and fats not just for compact energy, but for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, despite the fact fats have been made nutritional bad guys by popular media’s half-competent advice about nutrition. If you increase your activity level, you can account for this by adding calories, but don’t be overly generous. The fact is that your body is equipped to survive difficult times, so it will make do on less, but you still want to keep your metabolism going. The thing with bulimia is that it comes down to a control and body image issue. If you can get deeply involved in micro-managing your intake and thinking of food as medicine or fuel you have to dose, I think you’ll have a great deal of success.Best of luck to you.

A: well since she is overweight, i would suggest a 1200-1400 calorie meal plan for her. once she is at a normal weight, i would say about 1800-2000get her exercisingeat breakfast(good carbs, like kashi cereal, and some fruit, with ff milk)lunch- a salad with a ton of veggies, and fat free dressing, a piece of fruit, and a 100 calorie packsnack- either an apple with peanut butter or celery with peanut butter, or cheesedinner- more veggies, something either lke some vegetable soup, or salad, and occasionally some whole wheat pasta.if you need any more help- just email me:)
