How long does it take for a period to come regularly?
Q: I got my period in November this year and so far ive only had it twice. My period was due 3 days ago!Is t going to come or is it going to skip again? Please help?Btw! I dont have a mom and im not asking my dad to bring me to the docter for birth control!!!
A: It can take 1-2 years for your periods to come regularly. Some women never have a regular cycle. Sometimes your period can skip a month and come back the next month – this is nothing to worry about. Just make sure you keep note of when you start your periods and you’ll find there’s a cycle after a couple of months.
Why did I have my period twice (the second time only for 2 days)?
Q: I’ve had my period regularly for years. However, last month I had my period twice– once for my usual 5 days (right at the start of the month) and then again for only 2 days (about 2 and a half weeks later). I haven’t had a period in April though, and I should have gotten it around the 1st. I don’t take birth control. I’m a virgin. Never has my period been interrupted by stress before, and I’m always stressed. For something else I had to get my thyroid checked (I had hyperthyroidism); I got it re-checked recently and everything is normal.I’ve tried to find information on this, but I just keep on coming across writings on implantation bleeding and breakthrough bleeding. It’s probably nothing, but I’m wondering what reasons could there be for this? I’m sorry for all of the detail, I wasn’t sure how much was needed. Thank you very much.
A: I think its normal, some times a girl may bleed during ovulation which is 14 days after, from the start of your period. Because during ovulation a lot of women experience clear discharge and some may bleed. Although I personally never experienced that. Also, your period could be going off schedule because again either, stress, but it doesn’t have to be emotional stress, it could be from exercise too. Also being around other girls can sync your periods together. During one summer I stayed with two of my cousins both are girls for 3 months and all our periods ended up being the same time. So it all depends on what type of stress is put on your body, if you’re around other girls, or just bleeding due to ovulating. Also, during ovulation, i’m assuming its more like spotting then a full pad of blood.Just remember, all girls will experience a time when their cycle will become irregular. Mine was irregular for 3 months one time, scared the crap out of me because I would get my period every 2 weeks. But it was all due to stress.
irregular period ; birth control?
Q: Hello, I am a 21-year-old woman. I first got my menstrual cycle throughout those years my cycle has been regular; I only missed my period about twice a year. When I became sexually active at sixteen I use birth control. I use birth control until I was nineteen years old around the time contracted Chlamydia from exboyfiend. It is unknown how long i had this disease maybe for a couple of months because I did not get my period. When I found I did I took antibiotic and got my period. I continue to get my period on a regular basis for months or years. Then I started dating my current boyfriend. We did not have sex until the first time in July (which I had my prior to the day we had sex in July). In august I did not get my period, I missed it. I was not using be at this time. I took a Prego test it was negetive. In September I got my period for almost to weeks, very unusual scheduled a gyn appointment. I went did HIV and STD testing. I also informed the dr about the problem. All my test came back negative including blood test and hormonal part of it. The dr stated that there is no reason why my period is acting up. He gave me a prescriptions for birth control pills which I had just start to take yesterday. In October I remember getting my period but only for three days I usually getting for 5-7 days. I wonder what is going on and will birth control making better. I do want to get Prego in the future did anybody go through this I never had a irregular period. What can be the reason? I’m currently been suing the first pack of tri spritec. I been on it for two days now.Has anybody have this problem. When I went to the dr and did my gyn appointment I asked him if I have PID he stated no. I only asked this because I had Chlamydia and I heard that once you get this you might have PID, which cause you to be infertile.
A: Going off birth control can cause your period to become irregular for a while. Now that you are on birth control your period is most likely shorter because of the birth control (even if you had taken it in the past). When I was younger I had very irregular periods and then went on birth control for a while and my periods were only 3 days. It depends on the kind of birth control and the hormones you are receiving. I hope this helped a little bit. =)
