Q: I did get mine this month but it only lasted 2 days and its so light just like drops of water rather than the consistancy of blood.Ive been working out a lot and my BMI is about 18 (50 kg, 5″6 – 5″7)Im not complaing thats its lasting 2 days as i hate getting it but just wondering?
A: It isn’t the too much exercise part of the equation, it’s your calorie intake/body fat percentage. You have a condition called hypothalamic amenorrhea where your body fat level drops below a point where your body believes that it can support a pregnancy, so you stop ovulating and stop having periods because your body isn’t healthy enough to get pregnant and live through it. 50 kg = 110 lbs. which is pretty thin for a 5’6″ or 5’7″ girl. good luck!
Anybody’s period stop because of exercise and then start back after they stop exercising?
Q: I went off the pill in March 05 in order to try and conceive. It took me 3 months to get my period and it is still very irregular (about 40-50 days between each period) but was regular before I went on it. I am starting to think that my slightly low body weight (BMI of 18.4 with 18.5 being the cut-off for normal), low calorie intake, and exercise routine (elliptical/running every day and weights every other day) may be the culprit. I’ve stopped exercise and am trying to gain some weight. I want to know how long it will take me to get regular cycles again? Anyone have experience with this? I am currently under a doctor’s care.
A: Yes, I didn’t have my period for about 3 months during an intense exersize regimen. In order to get pregnant you want to be at a healthy weight-meaning not too skinny! It didn’t take long after stopping excersizing to get back to my regular cycle. However, if you do get pregnant only do low impact excersize and eat more than what you usually do.

Q: Will using an exercise bike during my period increase my blood flow and stop my period sooner?
A: Sometimes it can, because obviously vigorous exercise makes the blood flow faster (sorry to be graphic)Exercise can also help the cramps, but i wouldnt try and do too much. Maybe also try jogging, or skipping with a rope?Hope i helped (:
