Unfortuantely you don’t always know when your fertility returns so you may want to use condoms until your periods are regular again. If you may already be pregnant you may want to take a test.

I’m due to go back to the clinic on Wednesday and I think I’m going to go on the pill.On the leaflet that comes with the injection, it says that after stopping the injection it can take a few months for your periods and fertility to go back to normal.But… when people have heavy periods while on the injection, clinics can offer to give you the pill at the sane time to reduce/stop the bleeding. So… if I go on the pill as soon as I come off the injection will my periods come back to normal soon?Has anybody done this before? How long did it take for you?ThanksI can’t stick it out any longer, it’s been 4 months already and another injection will take me another 12 weeks with a constant period. I can’t do it. A: I personally would try to stick it out a little longer with the Depo. After 6 months, my period stopped altogether and it was just nice knowing I didn’t have to remember to take that damn pill everyday!!

A: It works great for the periods, I don’t have any at all now !!!But the actual insertion bit is PAINFUL. Apparently, it depends on the woman, but for me it was awful. A really sharp stabbing pain in my gut every time they tried to push it through my cervix. I just kept telling myself that this was a few minutes only, and I would be fine for 5 years after. Afterwards, I had a bit of cramping and took two ibuprofen. It lasted an afternoon maybe. Then it was fine. I had a bit of spotting for about a week, that’s all. And one big gross clumpy yellow lump because of the coagulating solution they put on my cervix after to stop bleeding. I love it anyway, I think it’s worth it even if the insertion is bad.
