Q: I am considering buying a Nikon F camera on eBay, but I don’t know anything about the battery of the camera and whether I would be able to find it. Any information would be appreciated. Also, any information about the batteries required for the Photomic finder would be helpful.
A: The Nikon F had no meter, so no battery … it is a fully mechanical camera … it is only when the Photomic light meter was added, that a battery was necessary. How important is it to buy a laptop battery made by the original manufacturer?
Q: There are so many different opinions on this subject! Many people say it is a a waste of money to spend four times the money for an original brand, while others say you MUST buy original (OEM) parts for the sake of your machine.Ebay seems to have thousands of satisfied customers who buy generic brands. Anyone have a logical opinion about this? I am on mys second “Dell” battery, each one lasted for almost exactly 12 months before becoming worthless. It is no wonder there is only a one year warranty on batteries, that is exactly how long they last. With my first battery, I used it often, and recharged it as recommended. With my second battery I tried a new routine, hardly ever using the battery’s power, always using AC, and it lasted the same dismally short time. Each time I ask for advice on how to “care” for batteries, I get a different story; it is really laughable. Dell customer service, and pc “experts, all have different ideas on what is best for a lithium ion laptop battery. Call Dell twice in a row and get two different answers. My conclusion is it doesn’t really matter what you do, they are short lived and very expensive. How dangerous to my laptop’s health is it to get a generic battery?ThanksI have a Dell Inspiron 6000.*Okay, anyone have any first hand experience owning a generic battery over a long period of time, 12 months or more?
A: My whole family has laptops and my dad replaced his battery not too long ago. He didnt buy his from dell, which is who we bought our laptops from. So you should be safe to buy one from a reliable place.
