What is the isotopic abundance of Zinc?
Q: My text book says that there are two isotopes, Zn-64 (63.9292 amu) and Zn-72 (71.9278 amu), but it gives no percents. So it would go like this:atomic mass Zn=(63.9292 * % / 100) + (71.9278 * % / 100)So, I’m kinda lost without the %. Please help me out with the percents, or give me a way I can find them
A: Atomic mass Zn = 65.39 amulet x = % Zn-64let y = % Zn -72x + y = 100x = 100-y65.39 = 63.9292 ( 100 – y) + 71.9278 y / 100solve for yNote : Zn does not have an isotope Zn- 72
