Q: Wondering what the most effective type of birth control is, meaning that it has the best results of preventing pregnancy during sex. Please include your personal opinions/experiences and/or statisitics (with sources). I AM NOT ASKING ABOUT STD PROTECTION OR HIV PROTECTION. A: Well, when I was younger, and not ready to be a momma, I was on the pill. I took it religiously every single day, at the same time of day. Also, my partner wore a condom, and pulled out before he finished. It may have been a little overkill, but it worked. It worked for about 5 years.Once I got older, I relaxed a little bit. Then, I used only the pill. My partner did not wear a condom, and rarely pulled out. This worked for a year. Then we decided to try for a child, and didn’t use anything. So, all my attempts at birth control worked perfectly for me.As a side note – I know of several girls who got pregnant more than once on Yaz (a birth control pill) – I wouldn’t recommend it.
