I don’t take my birth control pills properly? What do you honestly think of this?
Q: I’ve been on birth control (Tri-cyclen low) for about 5 months now. Lately I haven’t been taking it as carefully as I use to. When I started a new pack about a week ago I missed the first pill (since I lost it) and just started with the second pill. A few days later I ended up forgetting to take a pill, and by the time I remembered I forgot it was the next day and the time im suppose to take a new pill at. I didn’t double up on the pills, I just continued taking them day by day. I also take my pills a bit late. The time im suppose to take them at is 8 at night but a lot of the time it will be like 10,11,12 or even when in the morning when I remember. Im living with my boyfriend right now and I know im not financially ready for a child, since im still not done my college course yet, but it would not be the end of the world if I got pregnant we would deal of course. Im just wondering if I continue taking my pills like this (since im terrible at remembering to take them everyday at the same time) what are the chances of a pregnancy? Does anyone know of anyone who has gotten prego this way? Thanks in advance!
A: There is a chance of falling pregnant even when you DO take them properly. Depending on how often you completely forget to take them, you may not be protected at all. If you remember to take it within 12 hours of when you are supposed to then you should be fine. You should probably stop taking them altogether and use another form of contraception. I would hope that you are using condoms as well as taking the pill, as anyone should even when they ARE taking them properly.I thought I would add that my sister is horrible at remembering to take her pill, so she sets an alarm for the same time everyday. Maybe you could try this?
what are the chances that i could be pregnant?
Q: since my last period i’ve been forgetting to take my birth control regularly, i skipped the first pill in the pack and a couple other ones after that. i had sex one of the days i missed a pill and didnt use a condom yeah i know not responsible i know i usually dont forget to take it but this month i have just been off. it’s been about two weeks since this has happened and i just stopped taking the pill completely for this pack, i started spotting about a week ago dark brown blood or idk what it was. its pretty much stopped around yesterday. and idk if it was from not taking my bc or if i could be preg. i took a oee test like last week but that would have only been one week. and i wouldnt have had my perion for this month then anyway so i should start around tommorow idk when i should take another test or what. what are the chances that i could be pregnant im pretty nervous. can someone help pleaasee.
A: It is a definite possibility that you could be pregnant….. You should always make sure to take all your pills……if you cannot remember to take them and dont want to get pregnant and are not already pregnant then you should speak with your doctor about another form of birh control such as mirena or the shot. Good luck to you and I hope you get the answer you are looking for!
Afraid to start getting on birth control.?
Q: So I am 23, and I am in a serious relationship with my boyfriend. We’ve been together for 7 months and have been having sex since January. When we first started having sex, he would use a condom b/c neither of us want a kid right now. Now recently we’ve been not using one, and he just pulls out. Now both of us know that there is a chance in me getting pregnant, even though he pulls out.We have this talk all the time about me getting on birth control. He wants me to get on it, so we know that there is more of a chance in me not getting pregnant. But I don’t want to get on it b/c my cycle is pretty much regular, and I don’t want to mess it up. Plus I have this fear of gaining weight.A few of my friends have been on some type of birth control and they either forgot to take the pill, or they’ve gained weight and can’t get the weight back off, or they got depressed so they stopped taking it.I don’t want to have a kid for another couple years, but I don’t want to just not have sex. And I don’t want to continue to have this argument with my boyfriend about birth control. But I am scared that I am going to gain weight and not be able to lose it if I start using birth control. What is the best form of birth control that anyone has used that has given you either none, or the least amount of side affects?I am more afraid of the side effects that come with birth control. Although I don’t really want a baby right now either, but that’s not my fear.
A: What’s so bad about condoms?I take the pill, a generic monophasic called Sprintec. I haven’t gained a single pound (lost almost 20 at this point, actually) and I never forget to take it because I picked a time that I am always home and set a daily alarm on my cell phone to help me remember. If you don’t want children, you really need to do something about it or stop having sex. Those are the options. I know you know the risks of pulling out, so I won’t lecture you, but it’s pretty much blind faith and a poor choice. There are other options besides the pill. Multiple different versions of the pill exist, including ones with lower dosages of hormones. There is also a patch, an implant, the nuvaring, and the IUD.
