Can precum make you pregnant?
Q: Okay, this is going to be a 2-part question. I got my period Nov. 26 and a few days after that I had the mirena removed because of medical problems. Last night Dec. 7 my husband and I had sex. The 1st half was unprotected and I could tell either he ejaculated in me or just had a lot of precum. I didn’t ask him if he got it because every time I ask he always says no just so we will keep going. A little while later he put on a condom just to have some kind of protection because we just had a baby girl less than 3 months ago. Is there a possiblity I could have become pregnant again? I have no idea when I ovulated because I stopped my birth control and just had a baby. Is it possible to ovulate before 14 days? Any thoughts?
A: Answer to your primary question …..HELL YES!
Why do so many women think ovulation determines whether or not they can get pregnant?
Q: I’ve seen a lot of questions asking “am I pregnant” or “how could I have gotten pregnant” or some other variation. In most of the questions, the woman talks about when she does or should ovulate and it seems like a lot of them believe that ovulation determines pregnancy. Forgive me if I sound a little naive here but I always thought sex determined pregnancy. I understand that a woman’s fertility fluctuates throughout her monthly cycle and that there are points at which it is more or less likely that she’ll conceive. It just seems like somewhere along the way ovulation became the determining factor. Personally, I have no clue when I ovulate. But I’ve seen so many questions from women that say “Here’s when I ovulated and this is when we had sex so how could I possibly have gotten pregnant.”Am I missing something? Because I was under the impression that it’s possible to get pregnant at any point during your menstrual cycle. Regardless of when you ovulate.Okay…I know that you have to ovulate to get pregnant. No egg…no baby. I’m just curious as to why there seems to be so many women who think that if they don’t have sex in the few days surrounding the day ovulation occurs they can’t get pregnant.
A: Yeah I see your point. But I guess what they are getting at is that if they had sex near or when they ovulated there is a higher chance of pregnancy. Women who are having trouble with conceiving chart their ovulation to have sex and their most fertile days and so ovulation does count.
Anyone? Anything? Maybe i should ask..could i be pregnant?
Q: I am officially 5 days late now. My symptoms have gotten worse. If i don’t eat eat every couple to few hours my stomach feels like it is going to digest itself. Nausea has become a regular thing after i eat and off and on throughout the day. I am always tired as in so much so my eyes start to close on me. Going to the bathroom more often without drinking more water etc. The same ovulating like discharge with no odor. I also remembered something else, that i am experiencing now, from when i was pregnant with my son. I was trying on pants and they were a bit tight and i tried to suck in my stomach and it actually hurt to suck in my stomach and try to button too tight jeans. Of course i was 19 then and didn’t know any better, but my stomach is feeling firmer and i have not done any type of exercise for my stomach that would make it more firm. The final detail is that i have taken about 4 tests since my last post and all are negative…i am going to give it a week or two more and if the tests are still negative i am going to the doctors. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I have also had some off and on dizzy spells that last a very short time. I also have been feeling a slight flutter as i did with my almost 2 yr old daughter early on in my abs area. My husband and i both even felt our little girl move at about 10-12 weeks. Our doctor said it’s possible if you are really in tuned with your body, but most people don’t feel anything that early on. I got sick this afternoon after i ate lunch. All of these things are pregnancy symptoms so i don’t understand…Chels-Yes i am very regular every month. When i start and for ovulation. I still have not started and the latest i have ever started (aside when i was pregnant with my two children) was on the 30th which is 2 days, but it is always between the 28th and 30th every month. I always get ovulation discharge for two days 14 days later. This time (last month) there was no ovulation discharge until a week later then it lasted for several days (i lost track after a week). I am counting from the 30th and i am now 9 days late and still negative HPT. My mother said this happened to her when she was about my age. She didn’t have a period one month then when it came time for her next one it was super heavy and lasted a long time. No it was not a miscarriage, she was tested.
