- Q: im 15 weeks… just curious if its safe to get a spray tan? or use the tanning lotions that they offer at your local store? Like jergens, or dove, etc??
- A: Pregnant women are so touchy! There is a difference between being cautious, and safe and being down right ridiculous. Actually if you wanted to go sit in a tanning bed, the UV rays aren’t going to go through you skin and affect your baby. The reason they suggest you don’t go to a tanning bed, is because getting over heated can possible cause harm to the baby, the same reason hot tubs are bad. I personally do not go, but I don’t see why people make such a fuss about it. It’s no different than going outside in the 90 degree weather in the summer for 15 mins. You going to lock yourself up in a box this summer prego’s????Anyway, a friend of mine owns a tanning bed. She says some of the spray tans are perfectly safe for pregnant women. I would ask the place you go to what they use, and then ask you doctor if it’s safe.

- anyone get a spray tan from a salon and it didn’t turn out like you wanted?
- Q: well, since i am pregnant and cant do the tanning bed nor hang out in the sun for too long due to burning, i asked my OB doc if it would be safe to do the spray/mist tan at a salon.. she gave me the ok. so i went today and wanted the darkest one you can get and the lady warned me it would look like i just came back from vacation in jamica. so i thought ok, well i will try.. im actually kinda fair skin, but not super white.. i waited the 4-6 hours later like they said, and still the color dosnt seem dar like they said.. if your wondering, i wanted the darkest, b/c they told me it stays alittle bit longer and i knew i wasnt gonna go very much there.. i was just curious. so i look like i got a tan, but its not that much of a differance. could it just be my skin type or being pregnant and the hormones working against it? its not orange by no means, just not what i thought it would be.. anyone else have no so good results from spray tan?
- A: NOPE!!! Dont need a tanning bed or spray.. I’m jive tanish..LOL!!! YUP YUP!!!
