Do you have to be married for tricare insurance to cover you?
Q: My boyfriend and i have been dating for almost two years and we kinda had an oops. and i’m eighteen weeks pregnant. well medicade won’t cover me because i haven’t had my greencard for over five years. and my insurance won’t cover a teen pregnancy. and the bills are almost impossible to pay. its 500 a month just for the OBGYN and 20,000 for the birth without an epidural with only a year to pay that off. my boyfriend is in the army. he’s still in some training right now to be a ranger and we know that his insure would cover the maternity expenses if we were married but we’ve heard that i could be covered without us being married because it’s his child. but we can’t get clear answers from anyone.so if you know much about this insurance and how it works it would greatly be appreciated.
A: You have to be married for TriCare coverage. The military does not recognize Common Law marriages or domestic partners unless they are legally married. Besides you boyfriend will get extra money for dependents, possibly housing allowance, and food allowance. I don’t know where you got your figures on pregnancy and delivery costs, but they are waaaaaaaaaaay to high. So in order for good medical coverage, you need to get married.

A: Tricare won’t cover you durring your pregnancy unless you’re married. You have to be on his DEERS before tricare will cover you, and you have to be married for that. But once the baby is born, the baby will be covered with tri-care.
i just found out im pregnant…?
Q: im only 17… and my 19 year old sister is 17 weeks pregnant… she is on medicade… so im gonna have to get on that too…idk what do do… im against abortion 100% idk how to tell my mom. i was thinking about waiting till i was like 4 months pregnant, to see if i have a micarrige or not… cause with my last pregnancy, i had a miscarriage… D:idk what to do… i guess i just wanna know what u would do if you were in my situation…oh and since im a host at a resturaunt, i have to walk alot, is that ok for the baby?
A: i know that it will be hard but you need to tell your mom. i was 21 when i found out i was pregnant. im 22 now. and was very afraid to tell my parents. my mom was pretty upset at first than disappointed but now she is happy and goes to every appt with me. (my bf works out of state and has only been able to go to one appt) my dad took it a lot better than i thought he would. he is actually my stepdad (my mom’s ex husband) but i have known him for a long time and he adopted me. we have had our ups and downs. i thought he would disown me. at first he didnt believe it. but he was with me when i found out what i was having and he even bought his future grandson an expensive crib. bc he liked it more than the cheaper one on sale. your mom might suprise you especially if your sister is pregnant too. and im glad you against abortions bc its a very sad thingand for the working my dad was at dinner the other night and their waitress was 8 months pregnant. she said she is going to keep working til she has the baby bc her dr said it would be easier on her labor
