A: Ultrasounds are not 100% and 12 weeks is VERY early to tell whether something is truly wrong. The amnio carries a small risk of miscarriage and you’d not only risk the twin that may have a problem but the healthy twin as well, plus if it’s a problem with the baby’s development and not something genetic an amnio won’t tell you anything anyway. I would actually recommend you wait to make any decisions until you get another ultrasound when the babies are further along.
