How much does it cost to get your blood tested to see if a woman can conceive?
Q: What exactly does a doctor test for when trying to see if a woman can concieve or not? Also has any woman had to have surgery on her uterus to get pregnant before? That’s my co-wife’s problem but she’s not going to go through with it because there’s a very high chance the surgery would kill her.Vicky that is what the doctor told my husband and my co-wife that she would need surgery and that she would very likely die if she had the surgery. In fact the doctors aren’t even sure why she is having a hard time with infertility.
A: There are several blood tests that the doctor might use, but it’s unlikely that your co-wife would need to have surgery of any sort. A blood test will vary in price, but normally they check for FSH which is a hormone that’s important for fertility, and they might look at her monthly cycle to see whether she’s ovulating and when, and how long the ‘luteal phase’ is (the second part of her cycle). All this can be done with urine and blood samples and other simple processes. Many fertility issues can be resolved unintrusively, with a balance of medications (maybe as simple as vitamins or a Progesterone cream) and other tablets you might have heard of, like Clomid. It’s also possible that the man has a fertility issue, which is often also easy to ‘work around’ or fix. A good doctor in a reputable hospital would be able to do tests for that too.On a slightly different matter, NO qualified doctor would perform a surgical procedure that would endanger the life of the woman, so I hope that makes her (and you) feel better. Good luck.
How long should a woman wait to start trying to get pregnant if she has been taking medication?
Q: So, If I have been taking a medication, and then stopped it, how long should I wait between stopping w/ the medication, and start having sex to get pregnant? How long does the medication stay in the body/blood and how much, so it will not cause any harm to the baby, in case I get pregnant?
A: I would say start trying right away, you’re probably not going to get pregnant the first time anyway and by the time you do the medicine should be out of your system even if you are lucky enough to get pregnant the first time.
Sex hurts while pregnant, does it hurt for a lot of other ppl?
Q: I tried to have sex earlier in my pregnancy (18wks) and it hurt and tried again later in my pregnancy (23wks) and it hurt just as bad. Third time (27wks) I thought would be the charm but the same thing happened. I’ve swelled up after sex all three times…Does this happen with other women too or am I just different? Some women LOVE sex while pregnant and I don’t want to hear from those ppl LOL… I wonder sometimes if its something to do with how tight the woman is to begin with. I’ve spoken w/ my OB and as usual she never has much to say in the way of either advice or explanation medically or person to person. Seems I’m just there to check in and say “yep, still pregnant. nope, blood pressure is fine”
A: I have the same problem it hurts like hell. I dont even want to think about sex… Its always sore down there for days afterwards each time. Then again I would feel bad for not doing anything because my husband would be upset. I th ought I was the only one who was in pain right now.
