Yes, you can be pregnant. The period is from the shedding of the lining of the uterus. Even with abnormal periods, this does not keep an egg from being fertilized

If a woman gets pregnant, when does she start missing her periods?
Q: If she has a period (albeit shorter than usual) about 6 weeks after the possible conception date, does that definitely mean she’s not pregnant?
A: You can still have your period. I had a normal period up until I was 10 weeks.
How likely is it that a woman will get PMS symptoms when her period is due, but she’s actually pregnant?
Q: I got my period on the 17th of last month, but I have PCOS and my periods are irregular sometimes. Some months it will come on or right around the same day each month (within a day or so). Other months it will move 5 to 7 days out and keep coming on that day for the next several months. It will wait 3 or 4 months and start going out even further.I have been through this “am I pregnant” thing in my mind many times, but I am hoping that this time God will bless me with a miracle. My OBGYN saw a follicle on my ovary on March 10th, so he said I should having sex. We did on the 12th and the 16th. During the time I was ovulating I had a sharp pain in my left ovary. Also, my stomach cramped a little. I also got sore breasts. Well now that the ovulation period is over, my period still hasn’t came and my breasts are sore and heavy and somewhat itchy. I have also noticed an increase in discharge. Is it normal to have PMS symptoms when your period is due, but be pregnant?
A: The month i got pregnant i thought i was going to start any minute. I had cramps, backache, bloating, etc…also i had an increase in vaginal discharge (tmi) the whole week i was supposed to start, which was very unusual for me. PMS symptoms & pregnancy symptoms are very similar unfortunately. Hope this is your month!
My girl has been stressing a lot and doesn’t get full after she eats, does this mean she’s pregnant?
Q: Her period started on the 31st of January. It stopped after 4 to 5 days. We had sex on February 11th [twice] with condoms [both times]. After making love, we checked the condoms both times to see if they were ripped or not. They weren’t ripped. But on the 26th of February, when I tried touching her down there she wouldn’t get wet. The same thing happened on the 27th. I think she got scared and would think a lot about it.. Later that night she started feeling sick from the stomach and wouldn’t go to sleep normally. But the next day she felt normal, but later that day she felt a little nauseated again. She doesn’t urinate a lot though, and I know that’s one of the symptoms of a pregnant woman. I felt on her bb’s and they were the same to me. She is expecting to get her period tomorrow (MARCH 3rd)… We practiced safe sex, I even pulled out even with the condom on before ***mming. Does this still mean she’s pregnant?
A: Probably not. There could be countless other reasons for these symptoms, right down to simple stress. Wait for her to get her period to show her she’s not pregnant and then see if that calms her down so you can see if the symptoms continue – it’s likely nothing serious.
