Q: I had unprotected sex late may and early june. I got my period but it was irregular. I heard that you can have a period during pregnancy. I did reserch and found out that its some what true but its actually vaginal bleeding. A: Many women have those symptoms and are pregnant. When testing tomorrow, make sure to use your first morning urine.

Q: I am coming up 3 weeks late on my period. I took a pregnancy test last week and the week before and both have come up negative. I go to the doctors on Friday to have some blood work done. I have been reading questions on here about how women are having pregnancy symptoms. And besides being very tired all the time and eating more then I normally do I don’t have any tenderness of my breasts or cramping or pain of any kind. So i guess i was just wondering if you could still be pregnant after taking 2 tests both coming up negative, but still being late on your period and not having any symptoms. Just to add, it isn’t affected by stress, as nothing has changed in my life for me to be stressed. Everything is the same as it has always been.

A: This all depends. Were you on birth control?, of any kind? If so then it is doubtful that you’re pregnant but YOU STILL CAN BE. To be 3 weeks late means there’s obviously some reason… So the only way to know now is the blood test but just because a HPT comes up negative DOES NOT mean, you’re not pregnant…Common mistake I guess but I wish I could give you a better answer but it’s really hard to say. Some women can go through more then half their pregnancy and have negative HPT’s. Good luck hun and don’t let anyone tell you that just because a HPT says negative thats a 100% sure answer… because for A LOT of women, it was not.;) Me for example.

I’m 5 days late but had 2 negative pregnancy test. Could I still be pregnant?

Q: I was supposed to start my period early this week and didn’t. i have never had a late period before, if anything they are early. My nipples are very very soar(not my boobs) and I feel so tired in the middle of the day. My boobs always hurt before my period not my nipples, Iv been having horrible gas and diarrhea which I keep thinking is cramps but not. I’m confused. Me and my boyfriend sometimes use condoms but not always. Because of these symptoms I took 2 test today and both were negative. Could it be a false negative? Could i still be pregnant? I heard that some women don’t produce enough HCG for a urine test to show positive, I wonder if that is happening with me?? I’m not to worried about being pregnant I just want to know if I am or not. I don’t have insurance right now so I know a OBGYN would be little pricey. Any advice?? Should I try and stick it out for a few more days??

A: Stick it out a few more days. This has happened to me too! Apparantly it is true that some women don’t produce enough of the hormone to show up on urine tests. Even though some tests say “Five days sooner” Test will be much more accurate 12-14 days AFTER your missed period. I know the waiting sucks. 🙁 OBGYN visit is pricey for sure so if you can wait it out, only way to tell sooner would be to take a blood test!Goodluck girl!(Also, at the “Family Planning Clinics” you can get a blood test done for like $14 and its private. Check it out. Its not the same as Planned Parenthood )
