Why am I so fatigued? Can I take this Medication?
Q: I am almost 5 weeks pregnant and I cant believe how fatigued I am! Just even sitting here on my comp I’m so fatigued and my heart is racing. I noticed after I eat my heart pounds worse! I also have hypothyroidism and anxiety disorder. Perhaps its due to the hypothyroidism? I have had bouts of extreme anxiety (anxiety disorder) and depression. Before I was pregnant I was taking Vistaril for the anxiety and it took away all the anxiety and I only took half a pill but now Im not taking it and its making my throwing up much worse. I must say my mental state related to anx & dep is not well lately… Will it get better? Do you think it might just be the hormones? I talked to my doctor about being able to take the vistaril maybe and he said it was a class c pill and there hasnt been any studies either way if it would harm the fetus or not so he said it was really up to me. Has anyone else taken vistaril while pregnant? I might be spelling it wrong… Thanks for any help.have a wonderful life! :)~Sarah
A: hmm, well first let me say i know how hard it is to deal with anxiety especialy during pregnancy,iv had chronic anxiety/panic attacks for 5 years and right now im 30 weeks with my first pregnancy. Vistaril doesnt seem like a good medicine for anxiety as it is an antihistamine and though it can help anxiety it can also aggrivate it. i couldnt go without any meds during pregnancy because the stress would be more dangerous then if i kept taking my meds. I take a beta-blocker (a pill that controlls the epinephrine, more commenly known as “adrenaline”,released in the brain and therefor keeps me a bit more calm and completly stops the rapid heartbeat) called “Propranolol”. ITs also a class C drug and there has not been a lot of testing done on pregnant women but i’ve been taking 10mg twice a day my entire pregnancy and the doctors keep going on and on about how healthy my baby looks. The best thing about beta-blockers is that they dont make you feel drugged or drowsy, they let you be you more then any other anxiety drug iv tryed (i went through a lot of trial and error the first few years, lol). you may have wanted to try a different drug anyway because around 25 weeks into the pregnacy rapid heartbeat becomes a bit more of an issue because theres a lot more blood in your body and theres more stress on your body and since propranolol is also used as a heart medication it helps with that alot too. Look into it,it seems to be the best thing for me and it could really help you too ^-^EDIT: btw,i had really bad fatigue in the begining too,i was taking 2 naps a day through my whole first trimester. but when i hit the second trimester it eased up a lot so dont worry. and antihistamines can make you drowsy and if you do choose to switch to a beta-blocker then theres a tiny bit of drowsyness for the first week or so but unlike antihistamines it goes away.
Anyone tried celexa for anxiety?
Q: I know it takes several weeks to start helping with depression, but for the anxiety how long did it take before you felt any better? Was it fairly quick or the same amount of time as the depression. I have BPD with anxiety disorder. I’m 8 weeks pregnant and have begun to have SEVERE panic attacks again and the anxiety NEVER stops! I tried lexapro last week but became sick within 4 hours of taking teh first pill and stayed that way until 2 days after I figured out it was that and not mornign sickness. OB called in Celexa but I havent gotten it filled yet. I am so sensitive to meds, and prone to nausea/terrible motion sickness while pregnant that really I’m afraid to take it. But the panic attacks are just making me nuts!!! Please someone tell me if this med worked pretty quick for at least the anxiety, I can deal with the BPD til it kicks in but the anxiety is just makign me sick. THNX!PLEASE no responses like teh first!! I have been off for 2 years, if it was workign out ID STAY OFF THE CRAP!! Being sick doesnt make us stupid, we are aware of any risks and we have to choose the best for our situations. If you havent got BPS or somethign of the sort then you CANT possibly understand the decision that has to be made.Used to take seroquel til it quit working, was on effexor xr until I became pregnant with my now 12 month old(yesterday 🙂 ). And yes the seroquel was great while it lasted! and fast!
A: Celexa worked well for me. I was on it for about 9 months before my doctor slowly took me off of it. It took several weeks of taking it before I could tell any difference. I have been off of it for three years but lately have been thinking I may need to get back on it or something like it. Good luck!
Do you, ladies have PCOS?
Q: I do, and i believe that all women who has , should start writing long letters to docs, explain how messed up can be and find not a treatment but A REAL CURE, for this curse of nature.my personal experience.I got my period 14 years old, it was painful, like a stomach ache. After my first period the second one came 5-6 months after. PAIN PAIN PAIN, VOMITING , LOW PRESSURE, FAINTING,COLD SWEATS, all these for 12 years, ( iim 26 now) and i didn’t knew , my family didn’t get me to the doctor, (messed up family, another big story), and when I went to a doc, she told me that i have them and its ok. I was 22 when i went and until now i didn’t knew how serious can be. Did you know that: More than 50 percent of women with PCOS will have diabetes or pre-diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance) before the age of 40. Women with PCOS have a four to seven times higher risk of heart attack than women of the same age without PCOS. Women with PCOS are at greater risk of having high blood pressure. Women with PCOS have high levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and low levels of HDL (good) cholesterolChance of getting endometrial cancer the symptoms are:infrequent menstrual periods, no menstrual periods, and/or irregular bleeding infertility (not able to get pregnant) because of not ovulating increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes—a condition called hirsutism (HER-suh-tiz-um) ovarian cysts acne, oily skin, or dandruff weight gain or obesity, usually carrying extra weight around the waist insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes high cholesterol high blood pressure male-pattern baldness or thinning hair patches of thickened and dark brown or black skin on the neck, arms, breasts, or thighs skin tags, or tiny excess flaps of skin in the armpits or neck area pelvic pain anxiety or depression due to appearance and/or infertility sleep apnea—excessive snoring and times when breathing stops while asleep (Not all women with PCOS share the same symptoms)Thats is so messed up. I got :Acne, depression, very irregular periods, increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, It ruined my life until now, because no doctor told me anything of those and i might have insulin resistance, because of my family background.now i went to a hospital and im waiting for my next period so i can do some tests.here in greece, docs saying ” oh birth control pills are bad , don’t take them, blah, blah blah, ” fuck them , the minute i start birth control pills , is my happiest moments i.ve ever lived, no acne, no pains, everything is so perfect, now i stopped because i have to do the blood exams, and guess what….. ACNE ACNE ACNE, HAIR, SMALL BOOBS!I took yasmin, and here in greece birth control pills cost like 10 euro, why in america cost like 60 dollars? because of the advertisment? here they don’t do to much advertisment. thanks, all ladies you can share if you want to. All my life i thought that i was crazy, crazy bitch from hell, i was feeling bad and now i know.

I am also slightly fat and I can’t shift the weight!I want a solution. The tummy pains are the worst.
